Fotheringham & Associates, a 22-year-old advertising and public relations agency, has changed its name to FJCandN.
The new name reflects the names of principals Bob Fotheringham, Bruce Jensen, Hal Christensen and David Newbold."We have just finished our best year ever and the tendency is to relax. But we're making changes to become more competitive locally and nationally," said founder Bob Fotheringham. "We're restructuring the agency because we've found that clients today essentially want three things from an advertising agency: strategic marketing skills, creative firepower and a chance to work with agency prin-ci-pals."
Fotheringham said the agency recently conducted a national search for a creative director and had hired Newbold, formerly creative director at Bonneville Communications.
Newbold is "building a department of creative people who can compete creatively with any ad agency in the country," Fother-ing-ham said.
Fotheringham will continue in his role as chairman. Jensen, president and former creative director of Fotheringham, will continue as president. Christensen, director of marketing and client services, will continue in that role.
"Many businesses make these kinds of changes because they're in trouble," Fotheringham said. "With us, it's just the opposite. We've just had our best years ever as an agency. We want to springboard from a healthy local economy to continue that growth."
