For those companies that have forced employees to go outside to smoke, EnviroAire Inc., 57 E. Truman Ave., the design and marketing affiliate of Alumaline Corp., has an answer.
The company is introducing the "Enviro Lounge" that is a free-standing enclosure for smokers that can be mounted on a concrete pad outside commercial and public buildings.Made in three sizes, the lounge comes complete with venting double pane windows and screens, insulated walls/ceilings meeting local building codes and a maintenance-free baked-on enamel finish inside and out. Options include vinyl tables, benches, smoke filtering system, heater/air-conditioning system and sunscreening.
Alumaline officials first became interested in this product three years ago when they built a smoking area for employees of Morton International in Ogden who previously had to go outside to light up.
Several other companies have built or plan to build enclosures.
