Scott Stahoviak blasted a home run and a two-run triple to lead the Salt Lake Buzz to an 8-5 Pacific Coast League victory over the Albuquerque Dukes Sunday.
A crowd of 12,704 at Franklin Quest Field watched the Buzz end the Southern Division leader's four-game winning streak.The Buzz improved their record to 5-5 overall in the Northern Division, while the Dukes dropped to 8-2.
Salt Lake's Tim McIntosh and Stahoviak hit back-to-back home runs in the fourth inning. Stahoviak's triple in the sixth inning tied the score at 5-5. J.T. Bruett's double in the seventh inning scored two runs to give the Buzz the lead, 7-5.
Matt Stevens received credit for the win after pitching two and two-thirds innings of shutout ball, relieving starter Andy Cook in the fifth inning.
The Buzz and Dukes continue their four-game series, which is tied at one victory each, Monday night at 7 p.m. in Salt Lake.
