Running back Marshall Faulk became the highest draft pick in Western Athletic Conference history when he was selected second overall in Sunday's NFL draft.

Faulk, the record-setting back from San Diego State who led the nation in rushing in both 1991 and 1992, went to the Indianapolis Colts moments after the Cincinnati Bengals made Ohio State defensive lineman Dan Wilkinson the No. 1 pick.Faulk was among four WAC players drafted in the first two rounds.

Fresno State quarterback Trent Dilfer was the sixth choice overall, going to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

SDSU wide receiver Darnay Scott was the first pick in the second round - the 30th player overall - going to Cincinnati. Also selected in the second round was Wyoming wide receiver Ryan Yarborough, who went to the New York Jets as the 41st player overall.
