Life's rough: Merv Griffin sold his Beverly Hills mansion so he could spend more time on his 160-acre ranch.

The singer, talk show host and industry mogul sold his three-acre Beverly Hills home for $7.5 million to Frederic Rosen, chairman of Ticketmaster, the Los Angeles Times reported Sunday.Griffin, 68, wanted to spend more time at his ranch and Arabian horse stables in La Quinta, Calif., about 120 miles east of Los Angeles.

"He had put so much into La Quinta," a Griffin spokesman said. "He wanted to spend more time in La Quinta."
