I am puzzled about the controversy and rejection by school boards of the movie "Schindler's List." After viewing this film, I agree that the "R" rating was justified. However, the nudity and sexual scenes were only a few minutes, while the movie lasted for hours.

Director Steven Spielberg had to portray on the screen a person (Schindler) who was a notorious womanizer, heavy drinker and obsessed with making money. One critic called this movie "a chillingly accurate tale of the Holocaust." I applaud Mr. Greenbaum for his generous contribution to make it possible for all high school seniors to see this movie. This movie has many redeeming social values, from which we all can learn. What is puzzling is that other R-rated movies seem to escape this scrutiny. Movies like "Rambo," "Terminator" and others show hundreds of humans randomly and senselessly killed by machine guns. Where is the outrage on those films? Jack Lemon and Walter Matthau play in a movie called "Grumpy Old Men" in which the language is dirty and abusive. Again, who complains?
