Juab County Sheriff Dave Carter said crews from four counties helped search for the body of Darrell Carter, 31, Mona. The body was located in approximately 12 feet of water within swimming distance of shore about 2 p.m. Tuesday by members of the Juab Search and Rescue team. "The body was found about 25 feet from shore," said Dave Carter.

The victim's companions said he was swimming with them and clinging to the boat when they were approximately 50 feet from shore.

"When they reached shore they looked back and just his hat was floating on top of the water," said the sheriff.

The three men began frantically diving to try to find him. "They did that for about 30 minutes until they were exhausted," said the sheriff. They then called the Juab County sheriff's office.

The sheriff said 50 to 60 searchers have been at the site each day.
