University of Utah's third baseman Shane Jones and catcher Adam Sessions were elected to the Western Athletic Conference's All-Eastern Division baseball team. Sessions, a senior out of Salt Lake City, picks up his second consecutive All-WAC honor after an outstanding performance during the 1993 season. Sessions batted .333 this year, .370 in WAC play. He started in 43 games behind the plate this year for the Utes and yielded a .963 fielding percentage. Sessions collected 52 hits, 8 of which were doubles, and knocked in 32 runs.Jones, who played in all 54 games this year for Utah, led the nation and set a new school record with 26 home runs.
