Inflamed vocal cords forced Barbra Streisand to cancel the first West Coast show of her tour, leaving the fate of future concerts on the tour unclear.

Promoters said they would reschedule Wednesday's sold-out show in Anaheim, Calif., for which 13,000 people paid up to $350 per ticket.Streisand was at home under orders not to speak, said spokesman Ken Sunshine. He said the 52-year-old singer had viral tracheolaryngitis, an infection that inflames the vocal cords.

After Anaheim, Streisand was to perform in San Jose and New York, but the prospects for those concerts were uncertain.
