A West Haven man was shot to death at his Ogden business Wednesday and a suspect is in custody, police said.

Scott Holbrook, 47, was shot several times at his lawn-care business, Lawn Doctor, at about 8 a.m., said Ogden police Lt. Bill Ladd. The killing wasn't reported until about 10:30 a.m. when a 46-year-old man, Joseph Monte Favero, walked into the Ogden police station and said he had killed somebody, Ladd said. Favero was charged Thursday in 2nd Circuit Court with one count of criminal homicide, a first-degree felony. Bail was set at $25,000.Favero and Holbrook were partners in Lawn Doctor, 2612 Wadman Drive.

A car was also driven through the front of the business either before or after the shooting and Holbrook was found partially underneath the vehicle and the debris caused by the crash, Ladd said.

"We think from the scene there may have been shots before the car crashed and shots after," said Ogden police Lt. Richard Peterson. "The suspect isn't talking to us."
