Anthony Calvillo completed 10 of 15 attempts for 228 yards and two touchdowns as the Las Vegas Posse routed the British Columbia Lions 47-12 in their CFL exhibition opener Monday night.
"It's wild and woolly," said Posse coach Ron Meyers, a former NFL head coach with New England and Indianapolis. "I knew I'd like it, it beats the heck out of the NFL. I hope more American teams come in, but I sure hope they don't change it because it's a great game."Calvillo, a 21-year-old rookie from Utah State, threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Al Whiting on the final play of the first quarter and added a 24-yard scoring strike to Prince Wimbley early in the second.
