Lorne Henning, a former New York Islanders player and longtime assistant coach, suceeded Al Arbour as the team's head coach. The 41-year-old Henning, who coached the Minnesota North Stars from 1985-87, spent nine seasons as an assistant under Arbour, who stepped down earlier this month to become the team's vice president of hockey operations.
