Retirement Inn at Cottonwood Creek, 1245 E. Murray Holladay Road (4780 South), is seeking donated items that can be sold at a yard sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, July 1.
Items may be dropped off at the center any day before the sale. Profits will be donated to the Great Salt Lake Council, Boy Scouts of America, said Dee Dee Futch, program director at the retirement center.A former Cubmaster and den leader in Scouting, Futch said Retirement Inn residents visit Monroe Elementary School and recently hosted a visit from Millcreek Elementary students.
"We want to do something that would give the residents and youths an opportunity to work together toward a common goal," Futch said. She hopes the project will strengthen relationships between the older citizens and youths served by the Scout council.
