A company recognized by the National Association of Home Builders as "America's Best Builder" is establishing a regional office in Salt Lake City in late July.

Zaring Homes Inc., based in Cincinnati, Ohio, intends to introduce its master and estate edition homes in early 1995, said Brian R. Campbell, Zaring's chief financial officer.Campbell said the move into Salt Lake is consistent with the company's strategic plan to enter diversified housing markets.

"We consider Salt Lake to be an undervalued city," he said. "It is an opportune time to get into the market. It is a good pick for us."

In May, Salt Lake City was featured in Barron's magazine as one of "Housing's Hot Markets."

Weber State University graduate Robert J. McCowan, currently the regional president in Cincinnati, has been named Salt Lake City regional president.

Zaring Homes Inc. is a leading regional builder of single-family homes in the Cincinnati, Ohio, and Nashville, Tenn., metropolitan areas, Campbell said.

Expansion plans are also under way in Indianapolis and Raleigh.

Campell said the company builds homes primarily for distinctive neighborhoods that incorporate a variety of models and architectural styles.

"Our styles are a bit different from the norm," he said. "But Zaring neighborhoods are quality. They are top-notch neighborhoods."

Zaring Homes Inc. was founded in 1964.
