Cuban super heavyweight champion Roberto Balado, considered by some boxing experts to be the world's second-best amateur fighter, was killed when his car collided with a train in Havana, the Cuban state news agency Prensa Latina reported Saturday.

Balado, 25, was killed on July 2 as he returned home after a training session in a Havana gymnasium.He won Caribbean, Pan American, world and Olympic titles and among amateur boxers was considered second only to Cuban Felix Savon, the Olympic heavyweight champion.
