Edna Sophia Nielsen Nelson died at home July 17, 1994 after a long illness.
Born Feb. 26, 1909 in Hyrum, Utah to George Christian and Sophia Frederica Holm Nielsen. Married Delmar Moroni Nelson, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, Nov. 25, 1935; he preceded her in death, March 3, 1981. She was a secretary and bookkeeper in the Salt Lake City Hardware Store and worked for Nielsen Brothers and also Nelson Brothers. Active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Served a two year mission in the Eastern States Mission. An accomplished musician on the piano and organ, played for church services and activities. Played piano with her husband and his brothers in a dance orchestra for many dances in surrounding areas around Idaho Falls, Idaho. Moved from Coltman, Idaho to Salt Lake City in 1960.Survived by two daughters, Charlotte Mitchell and Barbara Jean Lake; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by brothers, George William Nielsen, William John Nielsen, Irvin Walter Nielsen; sister, Ruby Myrtle Nielsen Empey.
Funeral services will be July 22, 1994, 12 noon at the Belvedere Ward, 607 East Downington Avenue. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South and Friday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the Belvedere Ward. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
