Mention the name Phil Collins and various images rush through the mind - Grammy Awards, multiplatinum albums, movies, musician and performer.

Collins will share his talents with Utah fans at the Delta Center Thursday, July 28, at 7:30 p.m. There will be no opening act.Reflecting on the extraordinary turns his life has taken over the years, Collins said in a studio press release, "Generally, there is nothing that I would change, because I do believe that it's fate and that every mistake you make leads to something positive."

And by no mistake is Collins' list of credits positively stunning. His solo albums alone have sold over 35 million copies worldwide. And with his involvement in various bands such as Brand X, Flaming Youth and, of course, Genesis, Collins has produced albums for artists ranging from Adam Ant to David Crosby to Stephen Bishop.

As an actor he appeared in such movies as "Buster," "Hook," the HBO presentation of "And The Band Played On" and the Austrailian-made "Frauds." The multitalented Collins' wrote, produced and played all the instruments on his sixth and latest solo album, "Both Sides." Since his previous solo effort, 1989's ". . . But Seriously," Collins involved himself in so many different projects, he readily immersed himself in the production of the new album.

"Music is a lot more spontaneous than film," he said. "The development side of film is very frustrating; it takes a long time to get answers out of people. Getting back into a music project was a breath of fresh air, because, as opposed to film work, within two months of finishing it, it's coming out."
