President Clinton has announced he plans to appoint a Utah water district manager to the state's Reclamation Mitigation and Conservation Commission.
Don Christensen has served has general manager, secretary and treasurer of the Central Utah Water Conservancy District since 1985. He previously managed an insurance agency in Salt Lake City.He also was elected mayor of Alpine in 1974 and served three terms until 1985. Christensen was chairman of the Timpanogos Planning & Water Management Agency, chairman of the County Council of Governments and chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Utah Water Conservancy District.
Congress established the Utah Reclamation Mitigation and Conservation Commission on October 1992 to coordinate the environmental projects of federal and state agencies.
