Richard Austin Lockett died August 16, 1994 at home after a lingering illness.

He was born January 21, 1921 in San Francisco, California to Austin Philip and Nina Geneva Stroud Lockett. He married Kathryn Staley January 30, 1945 in Elko, Nevada.Richard received his education in California and Washington. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Fraternity and a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite. He was a member of Wasatch Lodge #1 F&AM.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Richard retired after 25 years from Hill Air Force Base.

Richard was an avid golfer, lapidarian, hooked rug maker, and master fisherman. A proud member of the former A-L-S Rock and Lapidary Society. Dick, as he was known to his friends, spent many enjoyable days and hours with his friends creating art from stone.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn of Ogden; daughters, Donna Diane Weiskind of Seattle, and Carolyn Dee (Mrs. Tony) Thurber of Salt Lake City; son, Gene Vickrey, Jr. (wife, Rita) of Kemmerer, Wyo.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and a very special sister (in-law), Mary S. Hunter of Ogden.

Services to be held at 2 p.m., at Larkin & Sons Mortuary in Ogden, on Friday, August 19, 1994. Reception arrangements to be announced during services. Friends may call at Larkin & Sons Mortuary prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, family requests contributions be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital
