Habitat for Humanity of Utah County will dedicate its third home built with volunteer labor on Thursday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. The ceremony will be held at the new home at 1102 N. 1000 West.
The ceremony will celebrate the culmination of hundreds of man hours from local volunteers including Boy Scouts, Brigham Young University students and contractors who have helped build the home.John Woolf, president of habitat for Humanity of Utah County, said, "Affordable housing is getting harder to come by, so we all owe it to each other to make decent shelter available for needy families."
Financial contributions to the project came from WordPerfect Corp., United Way and donations of materials from local businesses.
Habitat for Humanity of Utah County is one of three affiliates along the Wasatch Front. Habitat is a grass-roots ecumenical organization dedicated to the elimination of poverty housing through volunteer labor and financial contributions.
