Verdell Ray "Ted" Bishop, age 79, died August 6, 1994 at Provo.

He was born July 13, 1915 at Delta to Raymond Spencer and Annie Hilton Bishop. Married Dana Wood October 29, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Longtime Hinckley resident. Attended elementary and high school in Delta, BY High in Provo, and Snow College in Ephraim. Received BA in business from BYU. Served LDS mission in Czechoslovakia just prior to World War II, and with his wife in San Antonio, Texas Mission in 1985-86. Served in Deseret stake presidency, twice as Hinckley Ward bishop and numerous other ward and stake callings.

Farmer, rancher, school teacher and real estate agent. Member of Hinckley Lions Club, PTA, president of West Millard Hospital Board, Hinckley Town Council, and the Millard County Housing Authority.

Survived by his wife of Hinckley; sons and daughters, Verdell Ray Jr. (Beverly) Bishop, Orem; Barry Lynn (Karen) Bishop, Ferron; Patrice Alane (Dean) Moody, Kennewick, Wash.; Jon Bradley (Carol Jean) Bishop, Redlands, Calif.; Bruce Wood (Roberta) Bishop, Laramie, Wyoming; Julie (Mike) Brame, Richland, Wash.; 32 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; brothers: Duane, Delta; Merlin, Cedar City; Floyd, Sunol, Calif; Shirley, Provo; sisters: Cheryl Weiss, Pacifica, Calif.; Rayda Chappell, West Valley.

Preceded in death by son, Paul Wood; brother, Grant

Funeral services Wednesday, August 10, 1994, 1 p.m., Hinckley 1st Ward. Friends may call at Nickle Mortuary, 190 South Center, Delta, on Tuesday, 7-8 p.m. and at the chapel on Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Hinckley Cemetery.
