BLM firefighter Jennifer Rogers sprays foam retardant on a cabin in the backcountry community of Grand-jean, about 50 miles northeast of Boise, as crews try to prevent further burning in the face of Idaho's largest wildfire of the season. Statewide, more than 5,000 firefighters are battling nine blazes burning more than 400,000 acres. And another 7,000 are on the lines of 11 other fires in California, Montana, Oregon and Utah. More than 2 million acres of Western timber and range have burned in the past two months.
