Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Ida M. Powers Crumb Reed Smith, passed away at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah, on September 12, 1994, at age 86, from natural causes.
Born November 23, 1907 in Coleraine, Minnesota, daughter of Arthur H. and Pearl A. Powers. Married Byron A. Crumb in Saskatchewan, Canada. He died in 1935. She lived in Reno, Nevada, where she met and married Thomas S. Reed. He died in 1959. Moved to Salt Lake City, Utah and married Zenas N. Smith. He preceded her in death November 15, 1984.She lived in International Falls, Minnesota, Califonia, Oregon, and Arizona. She was very generous and kind. She enjoyed her work, and also gardening, fishing, gourmet cooking, national and international travel, and shopping for "those special goods." She founded and operated Murray Beauty Salon for over 30 years.
Survived by her sister, Iona F. Conoway of Tacoma, Wash.; her daughter, Joyce Crumb of Spokane, Wash.; and her adoptive children, Linda Mayers of Spokane, Wash; Frank, Ethel, Loyda, and Luis Tovar of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 15, 1994 at 11 a.. at Murray City Cemetery, 5600 So. and Vine Street. Funeral directors: Neil O`Donnell & Sons.
