Edmund Mead Bench, age 79, passed away August 29, 1994 at a local hospital.

Edmund was born in Manti, Utah, December 7, 1914, a son of Wilford Edmund Bench and Lydia Christina Anderson. He married Evla Marie Rostron, March 11, 1935 in Gunnison, Utah. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Served in the Army during World War II. After his training at Ford Ord in California, he was sent to Japan with the 7th Cavalry Artillery. Edmund was an avid gardner, and a High Priest in the LDS Church.Survived by his wife of 59 years; two sons and a daughter, Michael (Diane) Bench, Kim (Lori) Bench, all West Jordan; Claire Bench, Murray; five grandsons and two granddaughters, and soon-to-be great-granddaughter. Preceded in death by his parents, brother, George E. Bench.

Graveside services were held Friday, September 2, 1994 at the Manti City Cemetery.
