Dr. C. Craig Nelson, M.D., a psychiatrist in private practice in Salt Lake City for many years, died on August 29 at the home of his sister in Palo Alto, California.
He was 71.The cause was complications of cancer, which he had been fighting for one year.
He was educated at the University of Utah and received his MD from the U of U School of Medicine in 1950. He completed his internship in 1951 at St. Luke's Hospital in Chicago and his residency in 1954 at Salt Lake County Hospital.
He married his first wife, Ruth Tomlinson in 1947, and they had three children: Craig Richard, Carol Ann and Lorene Ruth who gave him two grandchildren. Olivia Ann and Anna Claire. He married his second wife, Deborah Zacher in 1976. He is also survived by his three sisters, Wanda Grusonik, Joan Nelson and Peggy Roche.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 1994 at 2 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive.
