Russell M. Swenson, 32, of Spanish Fork, died Wednesday, December 28, 1994 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah.

He was born on December 30, 1961 in Provo, Utah, the son of Jack Jex Swenson and Deanna Muhlestein Swenson. Russell attended the Oak Ridge School in Provo and graduated in 1984. He participated in the International Special Olympics in 1984 with the Utah basketball team. He played Little League baseball and basketball, also City League baseball and basketball. He was involved as a manager for the high school football, baseball, and basketball teams. Russell was an avid supporter of Spanish Fork and BYU sports.He worked as a custodian for Spanish Fork High School, as a maintenance worker at the Spanish Fork Ballparks, and he worked for Wills Foodland in Spanish Fork. He was an active member of the LDS Church and was an Elder. He was an Eagle Scout.

Survivors include his parents of Spanish Fork; three brothers, Clark and Saralee Swenson, Spanish Fork; Curtis and JoDee Swenson, Spanish Fork; Christopher and Jennifer Swenson, Spanish Fork; grandparents: Phebe J. Swenson, Spanish Fork; William Alvey Muhlestein, Spanish Fork; and nine nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 3, 1994 at 11 a.m. in the Spanish Fork West Stake Center, 650 West 400 North, Spanish Fork. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork on Monday evening 6-8 p.m. or Tuesday at the ward Relief Society room from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
