After beginning the season with a shaky start in the preseason, Cottonwood's Amanda Bigelow is helping the Colts prove that their region schedule can be a whole new story.

Bigelow vented some of her team's frustration Friday night with a dominant performance over Region 1 rival Highland, scoring 23 points and pulling down 24 rebounds in a 64-49 win over the Rams.Along with the points and boards, Bigelow also sparked a defensive shutdown of Highland with six blocked shots. The Colts ran away with the contest in the third period as they sustained a 25-9 offensive run.

Region 1

Clearfield 58, Roy 29

At Roy, the Falcons flew away with a win over the host Royals thanks to 14 points from Heather Johnson and ten more from Stephanie Johnson. Tara Allred hit 14 points, including two 3-pointers for Roy.

Region 2

Skyline 48, Bountiful 37

At Skyline, Kelly Duckworth led the Eagles with 15 points and six assists while teammate Heidi Kennersley added 10 points and seven rebounds. Candie Pitcher of Bountiful led all scorers with 18 points.

Davis 61, Viewmont 42

At Davis, Wendy Dale hit 19 points along with 11 rebounds to lead the Darts over the Vikings. Megan Jensen and Linn Davis both scored 14 points apiece for the Darts.

Region 3

Bingham 48, West Jordan 40

At Bingham, the top-ranked Miners - 12-0 overall and 2-0 in region - fought off the Jaguars, thanks to 16 points from Malinda Lynch.

Taylorsville 59, Granger 29

At Granger, Stephanie Johnston hit 26 points, 22 of them in the first half, to lift the Warriors over Granger. Lindsay Sodja added 11 more points and Brit Staveley snagged 10 boards for Taylorsville.

Region 10

Lehi 39, Park City 28

At Lehi, Jamie Hadfield chipped in 12 points to help the Pioneers hold off the Miners. Candice Christiansen was Park City's top scorer with 11 points.

Region 13

Beaver 64, Grand 41

At Grand, Arielle Beck of Grand racked up 26 points with 14 rebounds in a loss to top-ranked Beaver. Sunny Myers led the Beavers with 14 followed by Brittany Smith's 13 points. Beaver remains with an undefeated 7-0 record in Region 13.

San Juan 36, Monticello 26

At San Juan, Alica Adams and Amber Halls teamed up to score 33 of the Broncos 36 points to take out the Buckaroos. Tara Forrest led Monticello with nine points.

Region 14

West Desert 54, Tintic 27

At West Desert, Amanda Alder buried 14 points along with 14 more from Elyza Murphy to move West Desert up to 5-5. Karri Jordan scored 15 for the Miners to lead all scorers.

Manila 44, Waterford 36

At Waterford, with eight players scoring in the Mustang offense, Camilla Collett scored ten points to move Manila up to 7-4, 7-2 in region. Freshman Jessica Dietlein of Waterford led all scorers with 12.

Region 16

Monument Valley 53, East Carbon 20

At Monument Valley, Renee Cly led a wide-spread offensive attack for the Cougars with a team high 12 points as they won easily over the Vikings. The win moves Monument Valley up to 6-4 overall.

Green River 57, Whitehorse 36

At Green River, Marissa Harrison finished with 18 points for the Pirates and teammate Gaylene Ekker had 16 in a win over the Raiders. Ophelia Joe had the team-high for Whitehorse with 16.

Nonregion games

West 41, Murray 37

At Murray, Camille Cowley nailed four free throws in the final minute of play to give West a four-point edge over the Spartans. Cowley and Pansy Brandon both scored 10 points apiece for West.

Jordan 59, Cyprus 51

At Jordan, sophomore Dora Lelepali powered the Beetdiggers with 19 points, 11 rebounds and three steals in a win over the Pirates. Camine Baren of Cyprus was the top scorer with 20 points.

Woods Cross 53, Granite 42

At Granite, Tiffany Britton geared the Wildcats offensively with a team-high 18 points. Granite's Melissa Beau added to the Farmers' strength with 15 points and eight rebounds. Teammate Melanie Woodfin also had 11 boards and six steals.

Tooele 54, Olympus 53

At Tooele, the Buffaloes held off a stingy Titan team that barely missed a fourth-quarter win. Titan Kristi Fehr finished with 20 to lead all scorers. Michelle Cooper finished with 18 for Tooele along with 14 more from Kim Butterfield.
