Polly want a cracker (and to be able to eat it without guilt)? Keebler has a reduced sodium version of Munch 'Ems that is yours for $2.09 for the 7-ounce box.
Don Russell (married, five children at home, ages 6-16): "Keebler's new snack crackers are crispy, crunchy and light. They received mildly favorable reviews at our house with the ayes edging out the nays. Keebler laces each cracker with onion and garlic flavoring and does add MSG. Thirty crackers will cost you 140 calories and 4 1/2 grams of fat."Edyth Jensen (married, three children at home): "We tried the onion 'n' sour cream low salt Munch 'Ems. They were crisp and crunchy. The flavor was just strong enough to give a good taste and counter for the low salt. We will probably buy them once in a while."
Nihla Lake (married, two children at home): "These `Munch 'Ems' come in five flavors. The one we tried was `reduced sodium' - what a weird name for a flavor because `lowered salt' usually means `no flavor!'
"The ingredients panel listed a few assorted spices which gave them a faint but not unpleasant taste, and they were certainly `munchable' - light and crisp, almost a potato chip. As they join the millions of other shapes, sizes and favors of crackers on the grocers' shelves, we may be tempted to buy them again some day."
Linda C. Tingey (single mother, two teenage boys at home): "Bravo, bravo! What a wonderful cracker. The reduced salt made no difference in the taste and this is rarity - take notice people! They are crisp and flavorful. I went out and bought two more boxes. I will definitely buy Munch 'Ems again and again."
Rich Firmage (married, three children, oldest 10 years old): "My wife likes a lot of these type of crackers, says they're good. I like Premium Saltines, and that's about it in the cracker department. I think Munch 'Ems have a bit too much onion and garlic flavor in them. They are supposed to be reduced sodium. Well, they have the same amount of sodium as a couple of different types of crackers we had in the cupboard. So the regular Munch 'Ems must have had a lot of sodium.
"My wife said I'd better put them away or she'd eat the whole box. They must be pretty good."
Bill Allred (single): "This Keebler snack cracker is in a new reduced sodium version. As I munched on a handful of these pups I kept thinking, `I don't like these too much.' They're a bit too greasy and something seems to be missing. Then it dawned on me why I didn't like Munch 'Ems so well - not enough salt. It's the salt that I miss. I'll pass on the 7 grams of fat per serving. However, my X-96 morning show partner Kerry Jackson loved them. I gave the box to him."
Conclusion: If you don't just adore these snappy little crackers, someone in your house will be glad to take them off your hands!
