When it comes to award nominations, life keeps getting sweeter for Tom Hanks and the rest of the "Forrest Gump" cast.
Hanks and other actors in the much-praised film were nominated in several categories Thursday for the Screen Actors Guild's first awards show.Hanks was nominated by SAG members for the leading film actor award, as were Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins for "The Shawshank Redemption," Paul Newman for "Nobody's Fool" and John Travolta for "Pulp Fiction."
Named for best lead film actress were Jodie Foster for "Nell," Jessica Lange for "Blue Sky," Meg Ryan for "When a Man Loves a Woman," Susan Sarandon for "The Client" and Meryl Streep for "The River Wild."
"Forrest Gump" was also nominated in the supporting actor category for Gary Sinise and the supporting actress category for Robin Wright.
