Stuart Loraine Bagley, beloved husband and father, grandfather, has left our arms to return to our Father-in-Heaven, after battling cancer.

Stu was born to Lewis Loraine and Elaine Neff Bagley, 12 July 1913 in East Millcreek, Utah and married Lucille Carter Krueger, November 20, 1936 in the Salt Lake Temple. He met his sweetheart, Lucille, on his way home from a three-year mission to France, and they have enjoyed 58 years of togetherness. A lifelong entrepreneur, Stu founded Bagley Ice & Carbonic, 50 years ago delivering ice door to door, and built it into a successful commercial ice company. With Lucille, he volunteered at LDS Hospital for 32 years. He served for many years as a guide and missionary at Temple Square and the Church History Museum. Stu never stopped learning, and was recognized for his study of French at the University of Utah. He also pursued Institute of Religion classes well into his retirement and was an avid student of church and Utah history.

Stu and Lucille loved to attend the theater. His presence on the center of PMT's front row will be missed by patrons and actors alike, as he was often the initiator of standing ovations. Stu was a true example of selflessness. Family, friends, and strangers benefited from his desire to serve others. He made friends wherever he went, and always enjoyed the company of others.

Stu's spirit will continue to live in the hearts of his wife, Lucille; his four children, Kent and wife, Sharilyn, Lorna, Steve and wife, LaRene, Nancy; and in those of his 13 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; as well as two brothers, Ben and Don; his sister, Marjorie Turner. We commend him to the love of those who have gone before, and eagerly await our reunion with him.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 28, 11 a.m. at the Valley View First Ward, 2000 East 3900 South. Friends may call Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 So. 2300 East, and at the church Saturday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens of the Valley. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
