Lucile Reed Lockhart Naughton passed away January 23, 1995 at St. Joseph's Villa.

Daughter of George W. and Claire Reed, she was born July 15, 1895 and raised in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Naughton attended Rowland Hall School for Girls and the University of Utah.She was admired by many for her grace, eloquence and beauty. Lucy married Sydney Lockhart in the early 1920's, who was then president of the Morning Milk Company which was later sold to Carnation Milk Co.

Following the death of Mr. Lockhart, Lucy married Edward M. Naughton in 1962 who subsequently became president of Utah Power and Light. Mr. Naughton passed away January 25, 1992.

Lucy was an avid traveler throughout the world with a voracious curiosity for the lands and people she visited. She was an active supporter of the Arts and local civic affairs. She was also a long time member of the Town Club.

Her only daughter, Georgette Lockhart McNiff Hindson, passed away in November 1994.

Lucy is survived by her brother, Irving Reed, Salt Lake City; and four grandchildren, Kevin McNiff, San Francisco, California; Sydney Ferguson, The Plains, Virginia; Anne Gwathmey, St. Louis, Missouri; Leslie McNiff, Los Angeles, California; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South, Monday, Jan. 30th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84112.
