The fur is flying over Martha Raye's estate.
When the animal-loving entertainer died in October at 78, she left money to the anti-fur People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. She also left seventh husband Mark Harris an estimated $1.5 million. Now, the flamboyant Harris is becoming a fashion designer and plans to design and market his own line of furs - while PETA tries to save them using up to $100,000 of Raye's money.
"Martha Raye would roll over in her grave if she knew Mark planned to do this," said Dan Mathews, PETA's director of international campaigns. "He's showing not only a callous disregard for animals but a disrespect for his late wife."
