Emily Nelson Wittwer, age 37, passed away January 29, 1995, at her home in Murray, Utah. Her demise was caused by metastatic cancer.

She was born January 15, 1958 to Dantzel W. and Dr. Russell M. Nelson in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended East High School, Brigham Young University, BYU semester abroad program based in Vienna, Austria, and received her degree from BYU in April, 1980. She married Bradley Earl Wittwer in the Salt Lake Temple, May 14, 1980. They are the parents of five children.A loving wife, devoted mother, daughter and sister, Emily was also an accomplished teacher and musician. She sang and danced in the Promised Valley Playhouse production of "A Christmas Carol". She was a member of vocal and dance groups including East High Dance Company, BYU Theater Ballet, and Viva Voce!

A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she enjoyed callings as a Primary teacher and chorister, Young Women president, and Relief Society leader in wards and stakes in which they resided. She constantly strived to live in accord with the teachings of Jesus Christ, and sought to serve her family, friends and neighbors with selfless love.

Emily is survived by her husband, Bradley Earl Wittwer, a daughter, Wendy Wittwer, and four sons, William Marion Wittwer, Nelson Bradley Wittwer, Preston Haycock Wittwer, and Jordan White Wittwer, all of Murray, Utah. She is also survived by her parents, Dantzel White and Elder Russell M. Nelson; her nine cherished sisters and brothers-in-law, Marsha N. and H. Christopher McKellar, Wendy N. and Norman A. Maxfield, Gloria N. and Richard A. Irion, Brenda N. and Richard L. Miles, Sylvia N. and David R. Webster, Laurie N. and Richard M. Marsh, Rosalie N. and Michael T. Ringwood, Marjorie N. and Bradley R. Helsten; her beloved brother, Russell M. Nelson Jr.; Brad's parents, Audrey Haycock and Marion S. Wittwer; and grandmother, Wandamere Haycock. Brothers and sisters, Laurie W. and Ron L. Anderson, Elaine W. and Kelly K. Klindt, Julie W. and Richard J. Orr, Leslie K. and Jared W. Wittwer, also mourn her passing as do many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and choice friends who have always loved Emily and admired her noble example.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 1, 1995, 12 noon, at the Murray Utah South Stake Center, 5735 South Fashion Boulevard (300-480 East), Murray, Utah. Friends may call Tuesday, January 31, 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and Wednesday, February 1, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Murray Utah South Stake Center.
