Lavern Roxena Waterlyn Barrett Weidenheimer, beloved mother and grandmother, died October 12, 1995 in Salt Lake City.
She was born on September 18, 1906 in Santaquin, Utah, the daughter of Charles and Adela Richmond Waterlyn. She married Asael Eugene Barrett February 29, 1928 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1967. On September 7, 1972, she married Norman Weidenheimer in Provo. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1983.She was raised and schooled in Santaquin, Utah. Lavern sang with the Sweet Adelines. She held many church callings including Sunday School teacher, served in the Mutual and Primary. She was also a Relief Society president for the Provo 14th Ward. She was a visiting teacher for all her adult life. She wrote letters all over the country to friends and family. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
She is survived by her daughters: Mrs. Harry H. (Charlene) Miller, Mrs. Paul (Lila) Ellertson, both of Salt Lake City; daughter-in-law, Annelisa Barrett, of Kettering, Ohio; sons, Vernon Barrett, of Draper; Boyd Kay Barrett and wife Joan, of Fountain Valley, California; sister, Genevieve Sorenson, of Palos Verdes, California; brothers: Richmond Waterlyn, of Orem; Don Waterlyn, of Salt Lake City; 30 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two children, Margene Barrett Brereton and Richard Barrett.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 1995 at 11 a.m. at the Sugar House Ward LDS Chapel, 1100 East 1700 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center on Tuesday evening 6-8 p.m. or at the Ward Chapel one hour prior to services. Interment, East Lawn Memorial Hills, Provo.
