Five new stakes have been organized in Brazil, England and Honduras.
President Gordon B. Hinckley has created the Canterbury England Stake. (See Sept. 2 Church News.) The new stake includes the Canterbury, Dover, Gillingham 1st and 2nd, and Gravesend wards, and the Ashford and Thanet branches.Elder Harold G. Hillam, now of the Presidency of the Seventy, has created two new stakes in Brazil: the Aracaju Brazil America Stake, which includes the America, Eduardo Gomes, Santos Dumont 2nd, and Siqueira Campos 1st and 2nd wards; and the Aracaju Brazil Cidade Nova Stake, which includes the Cidade Nova, Santos Dumont 1st, Socorro 1st and 2nd, and Treze De Julho wards.
Elder Jorge A. Rojas of the Seventy has created the Comayaguela Honduras Country Stake, which includes the El Country, Las Mercedes, Los Laureles, Sante Fe, and Veintiuno De Febrero wards.
Elder Rojas also created the Tegucigalpa Honduras La Esperanza Stake, which includes the La Esperanza, Nueva Suyapa, Treinta De Julio, and Villa Olimpica wards, and the Flores de Oriente, and Veintiocho De Marzo branches.
Elsewhere, stakes have been reorganized in Brazil, England, Honduras, Mexico and Ohio.
