Duane Millard Henderson passed away Thursday, October 5, 1995 at home.

He was born in Riverton, Utah, on January 19, 1920 to Orin Millard and Sarah Howard Henderson.He married Lucille Herold on April 12, 1946. She died April 13, 1978. Three children, were born of this union: Bruce E. (Robin), Salt Lake City; Richard D., Salt Lake City; Mrs. Connie H. (Juan) Vazquez, White Lake, Michigan.

Duane was proud of being an Eagle Scout. He attended Utah State University School of Engineering until drafted in 1942 and served in Warld War II. Duane served many years in the U.S. Army Reserve and Utah National Guard. During his service, he participated in and refereed state and national pistol matches as a certified referee for the National Rifle Associaiton. He retired from service with a rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He worked as a renowned commercial architect in Salt Lake City from 1947 until he retired in 1982.

He married Maxine J. Cross on October 10, 1981. He was an active member of the Millcreek 1st Ward and was a high priest.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine; his three children and seven grandchildren; four stepchildren, Lynn, Larry and Steven Cross, Salt Lake City; and Christine Rigby, Boise, Idaho; 22 step grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren.

Viewing is Sunday October 8th, 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street. Services will be held Monday, October 9th, at 11 a.m. at the Millcreek 1st Ward chapel, 650 East 3900 South.
