Dog owners who try to keep their pets quiet at night might also want to muzzle them during the day.

The City Council has adopted an ordinance that makes barking dogs a nuisance in daylight hours. Excessive, continuous or untimely howling, yelping and any similar noises that disturb the peace and quiet of a neighborhood can result in a fine for animal owners.The police department will enforce the ordinance and issue citations.

The council drafted the new law after residents complained to the council about dogs barking in their neighborhood during the daytime.
