Angelina Ylst Hut, 75, passed away Nov. 11, 1995 peacefully at her home in Salt Lake City.
She was born March 19, 1920 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, a daughter of Eege Ylst and Maria Hartendorp Ylst. She married John B. Hut March 6, 1946 in the Netherlands. Four years later their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. In Holland she graduated from business college, completed dental school and became a teacher in dental assistance, typing and shorthand. After surviving World War II in Holland she immigrated to America with her husband and two small children in 1949.Angelina felt a passion for genealogy and was certified in 1965 as an ACCREDITED GENEALOGIST specializing in Dutch research. She was a prolific researcher on her own family lines and also found great joy in helping others with their research, and with the successes of those whose lives she touched. She successfully managed the finances of their own business for 15 years, and was highly respected for her honest business dealings.
She was an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and has served in many positions throughout her life. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.
Surviving are her husband, John B., and two children: her son, Ralph D. Hut, and his children: John, Doug, Jennifer, and Chad; her daughter, Celeste A. Wertz, and her husband, Robert L., Jr., and their children: Robert III, Melissa, Marina, and Lauren. Also surviving are three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Arie (Antje) Noot and Mrs. Bartel (Cristina) Van Oostendorp, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Neil H. (Liahona) Christensen, California; and Edgar Ylst, Nevada.
The most difficult challenge that she faced during her life was the deaths of her two sons Bryant J. Hut, age 15, of an automobile accident in 1967 and Roy R. Hut, who lost his sight of a brain tumor at the age of 12 and later became the first-full time blind LDS missionary. Roy died at the age of 25 in 1972. We hold their memories dear to us.
She was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Cornelia Bakker, Nellie Strietman and two brothers, Cornelis Heitman and Marinus Heitman.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 15, 1995, 12 noon, Mount Olympus North Stake Center, 3930 East 4155 South (Adonis Dr. and Gary Road), Salt Lake City.
