Damon Bailey's hopes of playing in the NBA with his homestate team ended today.

One of the most storied players in Indiana high school basketball history, Bailey was released by the Indiana Pacers.Bailey would not comment on being cut, saying only that he wanted to wait a few days until he decides what he will do.

A 6-foot-3 guard from Indiana, Bailey was a second-round draft pick in 1994 but did not play as a rookie because of surgery on both knees. This year, with the return of veterans Mark Jackson and Haywoode Workman, plus the first-round selection of Travis Best of Georgia Tech, there was no room at point guard for Bailey.
