Laurence "Mike" W. Reddick, 87 years young; a happy, humorous, hard working man who respected and appreciated life, died at his home November 24, 1995.
Born September 24, 1908, Nodaway County, Missouri to Ida Dupont and Lloyd Reddick. Grew up on a beautiful farm in Northwest Missouri, where his grandfather Elijah Reddick was the first farmer to till the soil. After formal schooling Mike, at 20, was sales manager of 70 employees at Chase Candy Company in St. Joseph, Missouri. Served in the military in 1942-44, where he taught German prisoners of war to speak English with a Missouri accent. Salesman, Ambrosia Chocolate, Milwaukee from 1944 until his death. Mike thought of retiring at years end but wasn't sure. His territory was from Kansas City to San Francisco with warehouses in Kansas City, Denver, Salt Lake and San Francisco. He was honored numerous times for his many outstanding achievements to the chocolate industry. Active member of the LDS Church.Beloved husband of Ruth Pat Beck Reddick; loving father to precious daughter, Ellen and fine son, David (Bonnie) Reddick; wise and loving grandfather to Joell, Jon, Erica Lauren, David, Doug, Don and Jackie Reddick. Preceded in death by sons, Michael, Stephen and Paul.
Mike cared about others -- always reaching out to help -- always happy, humorous and kind.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 1995 at the Monument Park 3rd Ward Chapel, 2200 East and Roosevelt Avenue. Friends and family may call on Monday, November 27, 1995 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, and at the ward on Tuesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
