Ever wondered which presidents are on the $500 and $1,000 bills?

The answers are:- William McKinley, 25th president of the United States, is on the $500 bill.

- Grover Cleveland, 22nd and 24th president of the United States, is on the $1,000 bill.

- James Madison, fourth president of the United States, is on the $5,000 bill.

- And Salmon P. Chase, secretary of the treasury under Abraham Lincoln, is on the $10,000 bill.

The last printing of the higher-denomination bills - $500 and up - was in 1945, and the last circulation was in 1964, according to Claudia Dickens at the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing. The increasing popularity of credit cards made use of the higher-denomination bills obsolete, Dickens said.
