Sophia Loren was right at home playing for laughs in "Grumpier Old Men."
"I've played many dramatic characters," the actress told McCall's. "But I like to laugh and make people laugh."Loren, 61, plays a restaurateur who sets up shop in a small Midwestern town. Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon get miffed because her establishment will replace two of their favorite hang-outs.
While she isn't known for humorous roles, Loren insists: "I never chose roles that were sexy just for the sake of being sexy. I chose roles that were warm, vulnerable and fragile."

She adds: "I think there is too much technology in today's films - too many tricks, too many weapons."
