Paul Ephraim Fankhauser, 93, died on Wednesday December 27, l995 in Salt Lake City.
Born July 2, l902 to Emil Otto and Marie Kilchenmann Fankhauser in Biel, Switzerland. Married Rosa Heiniger on February 9, 1928 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Immigrated to America in 1926. An expert watch maker and jeweler, he founded Fankhauser Jewelry in 1942.
Paul was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was an example of honesty, integrity and hard work. He enjoyed music and gardening, his flowers brought joy to many. He will long be remembered for his keen sense of humor.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he was committed to missionary work. He served three stake missions, a mission to the Swiss Temple with his wife, and a genealogy mission. He also served as a Temple Worker at the Jordan River Temple.
Survived by two daughters, Rosann (Ken) Long and Miriam (Gary) Davis; three sons, Ephraim (Camille), Donald (Jeralie), and Edwin (Karen); 25 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his wife, Rosa; daughter, Ruth; and grandson, Ron Davis.
Funeral services will be 12 noon, Saturday, December 30, l995 at the Big Cottonwood 12th Ward LDS Ward Chapel, 1750 East Spring Lane (5150 So.). Friends and family may call at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South from 6-8 p.m. on Friday and on Saturday from 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to services at the ward. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
