Alicia Grover Mecham Barreto, age 33, loving wife and mother, died peacefully at her home in Grantsille, Utah after a long illness.
Born May 9, 1962 in Fontana, Calif.; to Ben Leo and Carrol Jackson Grover. Active member of the LDS Church. Talented pianist and organist. Grew up in California, Utah, Bolivia and Illinois. Graduated from Naperville High School. Received degree from BYU in music technology. Married Samuel David Mecham March 25, 1983 in the Jordan River Temple. Two children: Selah and Crosby. Widowed June 27, 1989. Married Marcos A.C. Barreto, April 10, 1991. Daughter, Gabriella.Survived by: Husband, three children; parents; two brothers, Richard Grover (Mary), Arizona; Larry Grover (Penneye), No. Carolina; four sisters, Colleen Oliver (Harold), Grantsville; Carrolee Howell (Bruce), Orem; Ada Dittli (Albin), Springville; and Lanise Thompson (Kip), Spanish Fork; parents-in-law, Crosby and Janet Mecham and their children, Martha Ford, Jamila, Meredith, Morgan, Jackson, of American Fork; mother-in-law, Maria Netto Barreto, Sao Paulo, Brazil; and her children, Joseph (Brazil), Marcia Barreto Jung, (Seattle); numerous nieces and nephews.
She was buried in Nephi City Cemetery Friday, December 1. Memorial service will be Monday, Dec. 4, at 1 p.m., in Grantsville 3rd Ward Chapel, 415 West Apple St., Grantsville, Utah.
