Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, LaVon Fowler Christensen, returned to her Heavenly Father, Dec. 5, 1995, following a brief illness.
Born to Albert Sylvan Fowler and Kate Pricilla Alston, July 13, 1918 at Magrath, Alberta, Canada. Married Ted Jensen Christensen November 1, 1939, Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.LaVon was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings throughout her life. She was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren. A kind, generous person, always concerned about the welfare of her family, friends and neighbors. In addition to her family, she enjoyed her home, her beautiful flower garden, and traveling with her husband. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survived by her husband, Ted, West Valley City; daughter, Arlene Weaver, Huntington Beach, Calif.; sons, Fred C. (Doris) Christensen, South Jordan, Utah; Paul F. (Kathy), Thousand Oaks, Calif.; six grandsons and three granddaughters. Preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Mark Christensen, and a great-grandson, Jensen Scott Christensen.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the doctors and nurses of Cottonwood Hospital, for the compassionate care which they rendered during her final days on earth.
Funeral services will be held at the Taylorsville 17th Ward Chapel, 3120 West 4700 South, Saturday, December 9, 1995 at 12 noon. Friends may call at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Friday, 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, West Valley City. Funeral Directors, Cottonwood Memorial Mortuary.
