Elmer Gilbert Thompson, age 60, died February 8, 1995 at his home in West Valley City, Utah, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

He was born March 6, 1934 in Murray, Utah, the son of Elmer James and Vanda May Thompson. Married Doris J. Fresh, February 19, 1955; later divorced. He was a member of the LDS Church. Loved the mountains, hiking, hunting and riding horses. He loved to have his grandson Zackary come and sit on his bed. He made him smile and gave him a little sunshine in his life.He is survived by six children, Kip G. (Leesa) Thompson, of Lexington, Mass.; Kimera K. Thompson, Kearns; Keely D. (Bob) Witteman, West Jordan; Klay A. (Krissandra) Thompson, Tewksbury, Mass.; Katrina (Kelly) Dawes, West Valley City; Krystal Marie Thompson, Kearns; nine grandchildren, Adam, Brittanie, Colby and Laura Thompson, Jennifer, Crystal and Heather Witteman; Zachary and Alexis Dawes; brother, Clint Thompson; sisters, LaRae Smith and Lana Williams. He was preceded in death by sister, Vauna Milkovich and brother, Calvin Thompson.

A special thanks is extended to Vernon Lundell and Fred Murphey for their support and friendship. Thanks to Community Nursing Service - especially Joel Dumond, Ken Bliss, Serge Litnovov. Heartfelt appreciation for loyal friends and neighbors. The family thanks you for your care and concern.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 10 a.m. at the West Valley Eighth Ward, 3963 So. Peachwood Dr. Friends may call Sunday 5-7 p.m. at McDougal Fuenral Home, 4330 So. Redwood Road. Interment Valley View Memorial Park.
