Joseph Leorin Christopherson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, returned to his Father in Heaven on February 24, 1995 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was born April 7, 1903 in Burton, Idaho to Joseph Alfred Christopherson and Ane Emily Sorenson. He married Mildred Isabell Carter, October 8, 1924 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was employed by Mountain States Telephone Co. throughout Southern Idaho for over 40 years. After retirement, they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. He was called as a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple, where he served for 25 years.During his lifetime, he was active in the Boy Scouts movement, very active in the church and served as stake clerk, and bishop of the Soda Springs Ward, Soda Springs, Idaho.
He is survived by five children, Joan and Dorothy, of Salt Lake City; Helen (Ernest) Martinson, of Worland, Wyoming; Joseph L. Jr. (Ruth) Christopherson, of Great Falls, Montana; Robert C. (Sandra) Christopherson, of Green River, Wyoming; 30 grandchildren, 100 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, a daughter, Georgia Lee Waters, two sisters and a brother.
Funeral services wil be Tuesday, February 28, 11 a.m. at the Sugarhouse Ward, 1950 So. 1200 East. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to services at the ward. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, Ogden.
