Baseball

REGISTER - South Jordan Babe Ruth Baseball League will hold its registration on Feb. 11 and Feb. 18 at the South Jordan City Hall from 9 a.m. to noon. Registration may be limited because of limited playing field and availability. Volunteers are needed for coaches, assistant coaches, snack bar and field supervision. T-BALL. East Millcreek Recreation Center will be accepting registrations for the 1995 Tee Ball and Machine Pitch Baseball program. Tee Ball is for kids kindergarten through grade 2, and machine pitch is for youths grades 2 through 6. Register until March 3. Cost is $25 for tee ball and $35 for machine pitch. Softball

MEETING - Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation will be holding its 1995 Softball Managers Meeting on Feb. 25 at the Butler Middle School, 7530 S. 2700 East. Times are: 9 a.m. for men's slowpitch, 10 a.m. for coed teams and 11 a.m. for women's slowpitch. 468-2560.

Basketball

LEAGUE - Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation is taking applications for the 1995 Spring Basketball League. Play will begin March 20. Deadline for applications is March 3. Will play Mondays through Wednesdays. Cost os $205 for seven week league. 468-2560.

Volleyball

WALLYBALL. Alta Canyon Sports Center is starting a drop-in league for all levels of play. This is on-going event. Informal leagues on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. and Friday at 9 p.m. Free for members, $4 for non-members. Structured league on Saturdays and Wednesdays, with round-robin and double elimination tournaments every 6 weeks. 942-2582.

LEAGUES. East Millcreek Rec Center is sponsoring Coed Youth Volleyball programs. This is for youths grades 4 through 12. Teams will be broken into three age groups: 4-6, 7-8, 9-12. Register through March 4. Cost is $25 for eight sessions. Games will begin March 18.

TOURNAMENT. The Triples 3-on-3 Volleyball Tournament will be held on Feb. 11 in Salt Lake. Men's and women's teams. Cost is $60 per team. This is a fund raiser for Allen Allen to participate in the 1996 Olympics. 619-627-0688.

Other events

PRACTICAL SHOOTING. The Salt Lake Practical Shooting Association will hold monthly matches and practice sessions. Monthly matches will be held at 9 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month at the Hendricksen PMAA range at the East Canyon exit of I-80 in Parleys Canyon. Call 580-7836 or 942-8573.

REI CLINICS. On Feb. 14, George Jan will present a slide show on "Avenue of the Volcanoes," or traveling to Ecuador's high volcanoes . . . On Feb. 21, Scott Roberge will share a slide show of kayaking Alaska's Inside Passage and offers trips on wilderness camping and kayak touring . . . DISABLE PROGRAMS. Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation is pleased to offer recreation and leisure experiences to individuals with physical and mental disabilities. Adapted Sports is designed to meet the physical and social needs of each participant. The objectives are to teach fundamentals of sports with emphasis on fun, cooperation, fair play and team building skills. 561-0075.

WEIGHT LIFTING. Alta Canyon Sports is offering Teen Weight Training Workouts Tuesdays and Thursdays 4-6 p.m., and on Saturday 10-11 a.m. Coaching provided. Fee is $1.50 for area residents, $2.50 for others. 942-2582.
