Johanna E. Scheffner, 90, died March 18, 1995, at the home of her son.
Born October 31, 1904, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Ernst Max Engemann and Anna Marie Gaertner. Married Frank E. Scheffner June 26, 1929, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died May 8, 1980.A graduate of West High School, she was employed by Palmer Bond and Mortgage Company for several years prior to her marriage. She was an active member of the Wasatch Ward, serving as a junior Sunday school teacher for 25 years, a member of the Relief Society presidency, and as a visiting teacher.
She enjoyed flowers. Johanna will be remembered for her beautiful yard and flower gardens. Her warm, friendly smile and concern for others will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Gordon F. (daughter-in-law, Naoma); grandsons, Fred (Ashley), Gary (Jennifer); granddaughter, Barbara Ann; great-grandson, Andrew Fred; sister, Marion Orchard; and brother Max E. Engeman.
Preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Engemann and Martha Parsons.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, March 22, at the Wasatch Ward at 1455 Emerson Avenue. A viewing will be held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and one hour prior to the service at Wasatch Ward. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
