Many of prep basketball's brightest stars will be on display Friday when the Utah High School Coaches Association All-Star Games take place at East High School. The 1A/2A stars meet the 3A's finest at 6 p.m., while the 5A-4A game is set for 8 p.m.

"I think it's just a good showcase for the kids," said UHSBCA president John Nielsen of Mountain Crest. "We try to get the best seniors we can."This year's group of seniors includes all five Deseret News Most Valuable Players - Adam Sharp (Alta), Kris Cox (Provo), David Evans (Cedar City), Kevin Brown (Beaver) and Tony Baird (Valley) - as well as 21 first-team all-state honorees and 13 second-teamers.

Proceeds from the games - admission is $4 for adults and $2 for students - will benefit David Nelson and Tom Heywood, who are fighting illnesses.
